Research & Innovation
FPS Research and Innovation Line (R&I), is responsible for effectively promoting research and innovation in Health within Andalusia, one of the largest regions in Europe, with 8.4 million inhabitants.
FPS is the facilitator, upholder, supporter, and common service provider to all research centers and groups throughout the entire scientific process: development of resources (infrastructure, financing, career development and talent mobility), implementation and effective realization of scientific production (in methodology, management, etc.) and the transferring of research results to the industry and to society thereafter. To ensure full coverage of R&I services along the region, FPS coordinates local research managing foundations though a collaborative network so-called Research Managing Foundations Network of the Andalusian Public Health System.
Likewise, FPS undertakes direct management of strategic projects from the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Health and Families, acting as the backbone of biomedical research in the Public Health System of Andalusia. Within the framework of these strategic projects, and under the direct management and support of FPS, thirteen research groups carry out their R&I activities focusing on priority research areas: Chronic Diseases (including cancer), Advanced Therapies, Precision Medicine, Rare Diseases and Health Technology Assessment.
