TRAINING
With the aim of fostering the talent and professional development of health research professionals in the field of advanced therapies several training and mobility programmes are currently underway. As a result of these programmes, technicians are expected to qualify in the manufacturing of advanced therapy medicinal products, researchers will gain easier access to first class centres in which they will be able to expand their knowledge and learn new techniques, clinical researchers’ knowledge concerning the requirements for the development of clinical trials will be improved and, finally, the critical mass of researchers in the advanced therapy field will progressively increase by attracting talent, incorporating technicians and strengthening the adoption of young researchers into the system. The Coordination Unit of the Andalusian Network for the design and translation of Advanced Therapies, with the collaboration of several institutions among them the ISCT, is carrying out different actions in accordance with the strategic objectives set out in its Strategic and Action Plan:
- Training professionals in the areas of manufacturing and quality control of advanced therapy medicinal products.
- Facilitating training of researchers in advanced therapies.
- Favouring the mobility of researchers.
The Andalusian Network for the design and translation of Advanced Therapies in collaboration with other institutions fosters training and diffusion activities such as Children’s Workshops in advanced therapies, Symposia, “Encuentros en la Frontera de la Investigación en Salud (Gatherings at the Border of Health Research)”, or “Encuentros ConCiencia” (Gatherings with Science).

"The Andalusian Network for the design and translation of Advanced Therapies together with the University of Granada established one of the best programmes to learn about ATMPs and the basics of GMP. The tutoring is very interactive not only during practical phase but also in the online-based theoretical sections. You will not miss classes. The programme offers a great chance to get into contact with other people working in ATMP and GMP sectors and to build up networks throughout Europe. You have the chance to exchange experiences with experienced tutors and lecturers, also in regulatory aspects. In addition to learn and be trained, it is really easy to socialize in the sunny area of Andalusia with all its historical sights in the beautiful old city centre of Granada".
